Calcium chloride, composed of chlorine and calcium, chemical formula CaCl2, is a typical ionic halide. It is a white solid at room temperature and its aqueous solution is neutral. Calcium chloride is often used in salt water for refrigeration equipment, road ice melting agents and desiccant. Due to its easy absorption and delixing in air [5], anhydrous calcium chloride should be stored in sealed containers.
